Yeah, but then you don't get the benefit of Gmail conversations, but
you *do* still have the drawback of Google trawling your personal
life.
I don't know what a Gmail conversation is but if you mean message
threading, Thunderbird does that already. And unless you run your own
mail server, your ISP can monitor your mail as easily as Google.
