One possibility comes to mind: screencasting. I am amazed at how effective the combination of screen-video combined with voice is. It takes a knowledgeable presenter and someone with a knack for teaching/explaining as well. But when it works, it's a great training tool .. for _small-chunk software tools usage howtos_. One question is: Is there a need for (say) teacher resources that this might fill? Are there general computer skills that could be taught to students this way? Are there many nails to apply this special-purpose hammer to? Ok, another Q: is screencasting something that individual classroom teachers could produce (if the tools and process could be made painless)? If yes, could the tools and process be made painless?
