I don't know if there is a Wubi that is compatible with Vista.

That was just too easy. Google for "ubuntu vista wubi" and you'll find
your answer.
I was trying to give ideas rather than do something for somebody. I didn't mean to upset or offend anybody.

I hope someone has already responded about this, but the newbie list is a better place for novice stuff. Patient Linux gurus go out of their way to overlook things that are frowned on in the main list. There, the advanced users will often teach the newbie even how to ask the right questions.

I've been here long enough that I ask some of my questions to the main list (this one). But there are plenty of things that I haven't learned yet, which are not advanced types of things, and for those things, I still pose my questions to the newbie list.

Lack of knowledge or skill, even in the asking of the questions, is supposed to be tolerated to a *very* high degree on the _newbie_ list. But here on this list, the main list, being a list for medium to advanced users, newbie type questions can be annoying to some.
