I don't know if there is a Wubi that is compatible with Vista.
That was just too easy. Google for "ubuntu vista wubi" and you'll find
your answer.
I was trying to give ideas rather than do something for somebody. I
didn't mean to upset or offend anybody.
The idea was that you did NOT think something worked. That is not
being very helpful when the answer is so simple to find.
Perhaps, but even though it may (or may not) have been simple for her to
find the answer that was so _very_ easy for you to find, if we're
talking about things that are so simple to do, it would have been *far*
more simple (and kind) for you to have given her the friendly suggestion
to try such basic questions on the newbie list instead. Am I wrong?
IMO. There is a difference between "I do not know if this will work"
and "I do not think this will work".
And even that is not as strong as "I think this will not work.".
To me, the first one means that some research is required and I
haven't done it. The second one is a negative statement and you better
have checked all your options beforehand. Now I recognize that
somebody might misinterpret the first one and I will try to avoid
posting unless I have closed any possible loophole in my post.
Yes, the first expresses lack of certain knowledge, not knowing. The
second expresses serious doubt, not thinking something affirmative. The
third (mine) express near certainty, actively thinking a negative.
"I do not like her" does *not* mean "I dislike her" (even tho it is
usually meant that way, and is usually taken to mean that). Flipside,
"I do not dislike her" does not mean "I like her" and is often taken to
mean "I neither like her *nor* dislike her".
