with some linux apps and not all this mac crap.
Please read earlier posts about why people don't exclusively run Linux.
When I started doing video stuff, there was no software for Linux.
However, since back when I first started doing video editing, there are a
few solutions available for Linux.
kinodv.org - video capture (from ieee1394) program.
Cinelerra - video editing software
dvdauthor - Dvd authoring software
The capture and editing software appears to be in decent shape. The dvd
authoring software looks like it is a bit more difficult to use.
