Therefor we should ban anybody that doesn't include linux-specific
information in every single post to this list.
Relax, man.
Besides, there are times when Linux just isn't the solution. Horrible,
I know.
I was originally going to say that the lack of a linux-specific solution
might tell us something in and of itself. But I wouldn't want to offend
anybody's geek sensibilities.

I've only been on this list for a few months and judging by the direction
some of the very longest threads on this list go, KPlug barely would
qualify as a Linux list in my book. If Linux sucks at doing some sort of
job, are we not obligated to point that out rather than just keep silent?
I'd rather know that OSX can do it because, you know, a lot of us have OSX
in the household as well as Linux.
A while back I had a cheapo capture card, can't remember which one, and
hooked it up to Cinelerra along with the 'ol VCR. The results were good
but it took a God-awful amount of work and time to do it. Rendering video
on consumer-grade machines is normally an overnight experience. It's one
of those things where in hindsight I wish I would have just paid someone
to do it instead of offering to do it for free for my sister.
