Use DiskDruid to select the partition you want. (click on it, the line
will change color). Then click Edit. You will get a window where you
can specify what the mount point is for that partition. This works
for other partitions too.

I tried that but it didn't say anything about "root". The drop down choices for mount point are:
   boot
   /
   /boot
   home
          etc...

I chose "/" from the drop down menu for hda6. Is that the same as "root"? It came back and said the size was too small. I chose that size to copy a previous installation where the partitioning was automatic - I have no idea what the correct size should be. Would hda8 be more appropriate to use for "/" ? but then what would the small one (hda6) be used for? Do I need to do the same procedure to mark hda6, hda7, and hda9 and what would I mark them as?
Thanks.
