No, I'd rather there be a kplug-announce list that one could sign up on or not. If you don't want to get announcements, then you don't subscribe, end of story. If you do want to get announcements, you then subscribe.
The thing is, if you implement an auto-subscribe, I won't get a single message from kplug-announce, so I see no benefit to kplug-announce one way or the other. That leaves the only discriminant that of policy and ideals -- double-opt-in or not? I'm not objecting to an announce-list. I'm just objecting to the auto-subscribe scheme. If it seemed that I was objecting to an announce list, I apologize, as I was needlessly unclear. > You seem to have an abnormally low threshold for pain. And possibly a > faulty memory as well. Funny, spammers think I have an abnormally low tolerance for their tricks as well. So I guess you're right. I'll have to go back into my archives to see if I can find my unsubscribes; I recall there being some discussion about all of that at the time, and what my problem was. -- _ |\_ \|
