Then, who would you suggest?

I have purchased a couple dozen machines from www.ironsystems.com and
always been quite happy. I don't like Dell, HP, or any of those big
guys. Parts is parts. These small guys can put together the parts just
as well as the big guys. I have been caring for business-critical Linux
based servers for 13 years and not once have I ever said "Gee, I wish I
had the platinum support contract with 4 hour response time". If it's
really that critical we buy two. The only thing Dell I have are monitors.

Just to throw in my $.02.

While HP and Dell may suck, I have to report that I have been ecstatically happy with the support I have gotten from Sun.

I generally like their build quality. They are pretty open when something is wrong and they need to swap one of your parts. They actually show up on site exactly when they say. One service rep actually showed up *at my apartment* and did a mobo swap on the hood of my car because he was not allowed to enter a residence.

I have had this level of service regardless of whether I was calling in about a high-end Ultra 80 4-way compute server or an el cheapo Blade 100.

Their Opteron 1u's seem pretty reasonable, but I would have to do some research again. It's been a while.
