I say you are all on the right track. SATA is just fine but I wouldn't make a big deal if we got SCSI instead. I think Igor's server is ok, especially if we can get it for a decent price. I also think 2G of RAM is plenty. Some more disk than 36G might be nice. We are already at around 23G on sparky. Seems like doubling the disk is good insurance against growth. I don't see us going to virtualization on sparky anytime soon. More machines is more maintenance and we have our hands full with the one machine we've got. > In addition, if people aren't willing to talk about it beforehand, I'm > going to be pretty vocal about ignoring their complaints after a > decision is made. I *highly* doubt anyone would complain no matter what we do. And if they do you are right ignoring them. - -- Tracy R Reed http://ultraviolet.org -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Fedora - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFF1WYs9PIYKZYVAq0RAoT0AJ4mFbQ64FVF6z7aPeFsBOIi0il39QCaA+iP HZ1LDrjfIY/fw8ztHlSvHbs= =U/tq -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-steer
