Ace,

In my capacity as Sugar Labs Translation Team Coordinator I happen to
do a lot of work on new glibc locales and with language communities
working to "plant their flag" on Linux and FOSS projects. So much so
that the glibc maintainers have granted me commit access (after three
or four new locales submitted in the last year). I would very happy
to work with you (off-list) to prepare patches to the glibc localedata
to correct the current inaccuracies.

You probably know that there is an existing pap_AN locale that needs
correction now that AN is deprecated as a ISO-3166 code. I would
note that there is an upstream glibc locale bug open against this
existing locale that should be resolved as part of the overall
clean-up of locales for Papiamento in various places.

As for Papiamento in LibreOffice:

>From the news feed:

https://translations.documentfoundation.org/pap/notices

it appears that you may be the only registered Papiamento translator
on the LibreOffice Pootle instance.

Sugar Labs also has a Papiamento language project

http://translate.sugarlabs.org/pap/

This would be a great opportunity to check our language set up
information against that in the LibreOffice Pootle instance (although
I am not sure if LibreOffice uses this information directly). We
currently use these values to define our language setup for Papiamento

Papiamento (pap)

Plurals and plural equation
n=2
(n != 1)

Special Characters:
èòùüñáéíóúÇç

Again, I would very much like ot work with you (off-list) to improve
the accuracy of Sugar Labs representation of the current state of
Papiamento language L10n.

Warmest Regards,

cjl
Sugar Labs Translation Team Coordinator
