Hello everybody
I write this mail in English so everybody can understand me better :-).
I'm very interested in Linux and Open Source though now I don't know
much. I'm just in the beginning period of learning the system. Therefore
I've used Open Source softwares on both Windows and Linux! I'm keen on
translation of help parts (manuals, FAQ,... so I can learn too). I've
translated all the help part of GIMP into Vietnamese already (in html
format), version 0.9. Everybody can download the whole translation here
http://mystusvittatus.googlepages.com/GIMP_help_ver09.zip. Just look
into the folder en for index file and open it. I also translated some
parts of OOo, like the FAQ of OOo Writer that I got from OOo website (in
this link http://mystusvittatus.googlepages.com/ooo_writer_faq). For
some help parts, I just copy the whole part from the help, paste them to
OOo Writer and translate them (people can see some here
http://mystusvittatus.googlepages.com/ooowriter). I also have translated
about nealry half of the more or less 400 modules of GRASS help (a GIS
on Linux, this also in html format). I don't know if this can be
included into other people's work (I guess no or not easy isn't it?).
I'd appreciate if someone can do something with things I've already
done. From now on, I'd like to know the instructions and getting some
files that are prepared to be included to others' work to translate.
It'll be easier for me but also make my translation work more useful to
other members in the team.
Also, now I still use dial-up so it cost me a lots to work online. If
there is any solution like download the file to computer and do the
translation offline, then that would be very great and convenient for
me, save me lots of money too!:-)
For the terms to be translated, it would be great if there is any list
(or file, whatever) which is already in agreement how to translate into
VNese (at least among members in this team), then I can follow up.
Thanks
Mystus
