Hello Holly,
Some labradoodles are very prone to ear problems. We use listerine mouth wash on a
Q-tip to clean the entire ear canal. This isn't a cure but does control it for longer
periods of time. This should only be done when there are no infections.

Good Morning Doodlers....

I have a question. My wonderful Labradoodle, Neo (who will be the big ONE-year-old on
Thursday), has had three ear infections in the last 6 months. You know that nasty
brown gunk in the ear canal. The vet gave me Otimax the first time and it seemed to
clear it up and told me to use Oticalm for preventative. However, the infection came
back within a couple weeks. I called the vet and he gave me another tube of the
Otimax. That time it never really seemed to completely clear so I tried the rubbing
alcohol/white vinegar/water solution and that has done nothing.

I called the vet again and he wants me to come get more Otimax. That is NOT taking
care of it. Is this just something I'm going to have to keep battling or is there some
other method that I can try to get rid of this problem?? Is this just a floppy-ear dog
issue? I also have a 2-yr-old Old English Sheepdog who has never had any ear troubles.

Please help,
Holly
