Mine had a yeast infection in his ears twice.  And, he is only 6 months old.  Otirinse helps keep his ears clean and if  it returns, I only have to use the rinse a few times and it keeps it in check.  I have a tube of Dermagen which clears it up fairly quickly if it gets bad again.  My doodle is in the water every chance he gets and the floppy ears don't help. My poodle used to get the same thing.  Yvonne

Subject: RE: [labradoodles] Ear infections...

Good Morning Doodlers....

I have a question. My wonderful Labradoodle, Neo (who will be the big ONE-year-old on Thursday), has had three ear infections in the last 6 months. You know that nasty brown gunk in the ear canal. The vet gave me Otimax the first time and it seemed to clear it up and told me to use Oticalm for preventative. However, the infection came back within a couple weeks. I called the vet and he gave me another tube of the Otimax. That time it never really seemed to completely clear so I tried the rubbing alcohol/white vinegar/water solution and that has done nothing.

I called the vet again and he wants me to come get more Otimax. That is NOT taking care of it. Is this just something I'm going to have to keep battling or is there some other method that I can try to get rid of this problem?? Is this just a floppy-ear dog issue? I also have a 2-yr-old Old English Sheepdog who has never had any ear troubles.

Please help,
Holly
