I also use this on my Standard, when he gets his beauty treatment!
And all the hair is removed, all the time. Just in case.

infections...
Our breeder gave me this when we bought our
standard size poodle from them.
The ear med. is half alcohol,
half white vinegar. The alcohol kills any bacteria and the vinegar brings the
ear ph levels back to normal. Helps to use it after a good bath as a
precautionary or if she's been swimming.

infections...
My three year labradoodle had his first ear
infection a couple of months back and the vet had given him Otimox. It
cleared up right away no problem and he luckily hasn't had another since.
However, the vet did say that if he would continue to get them, she
would consider cutting all of the hair out of his ears. I'm not sure
if your doodle has the hairy ear problem or if you've already had it
removed if it does, but she said that this would help prevent the yucky
brown stuff from developing to the degree that it does and prevent
infection. My first vet did say that ear infections might be a problem
with him since he had the floppy ears. Not sure if this helps at all, but
it was what I was told. Good
luck!
