Paula and the rest - I'm sorry you misunderstood. I think maybe they
need to justify to THEMSELVES that they spent A LOT of money to get their
Labradoodles from these breeders. They obviously feel that those
breeders offer something the others don't. They wanted their doodles to
originate from Austrailia. And if they want to create a group for
themselves, then it should not hurt feelings. I'm sorry I felt it
necessary to stick up for those who wanted to join the new group.
I breed Labradoodles and have had many run-ins with AKC breeders regarding
my breeding of "mutts". I feel I need to be in closet with the Labradoodle
issue. My son can't even join the local dog fanciers association because
he can't sign an oath saying he will only breed/represent recognized
breeds. So, although we may all love our Labradoodles and think they are
the greatest thing since sliced bread, until they are recognized by AKC, then
they will continued to be a "non-breed" or as Karen said not a "true" breed, in
the eyes of many. I myself consider them the "best breed"!
