Alex I solved the problem of huge pdf files by breaking the books up into parts. My torchon lesson book has 2 parts, both between 4 and 5 mb. My torchon pattern book is in 4 parts, each about 5-7 mb. I send each part attached to a separate email. If the files are larger, some servers shut down the connection if it stays open too long.
As to people making digital copies of the pdf file and passing it around, there is no way to stop that. You can ask purchasers to respect your copyright, that your hard work deserves recompense. As to an authors groups, I could start one as part of laceioli, if you are interested. I could make it public or private. What do you think?
