Hi Everybody:

Just yesterday I fished a message out of the Spam folder - not on my computer,
but the Spam folder that my ISP maintains for my account, where they put all of
the messages the ISP software decides are junk. These messages are not
downloaded to me and I would never see them if I didn’t go onto the ISP’s
webmail program to see what they've thrown into that folder.

The message was a perfectly innocent reply to an ongoing thread (the one about
the International Lace Day). I got all the other messages in the thread, and I
get other messages that sender posts to Arachne. But on that day at that time
something about that message triggered my ISP’s software to decide it was junk
and withhold it from me. Nothing to do with anything going wrong - just a
difference of opinion between me and the ISP’s software.

By the way, I had to set up that Spam folder myself. The ISP originally had my
account set up so they would just delete the messages the software thought were
Spam, and not put them in a folder for me. It wasn’t until I complained to them
because I wasn’t getting some very important messages, that I found out what
they were doing on my behalf, and changed my account settings so the messages
would be saved for me to check over.

So, I second the notion that people pick over their email settings - and maybe
call their ISP to find out if something similar is happening.

Hope this helps.
