> I receive messages from Kent Family History Society and a while ago there were problems with members who had AOL email addresses; each time one of them tried to post to the list the system unsubscribed them and the list administrator had to manually re-subscribe them. It got to a point where for a while members with AOL email addresses could not be on the global list unless they provided an alternative email.
I dont remember the details, but it was to do with the way the AOL system recognised the routing of the messages through the system. I think it got solved when the software for the email group was updated. Problems with AOL happen from time to time - on one occasion I couldnt post anything to individual AOL addresses and my ISP sys admin had to intervene. The root problem as I see it is that AOL are so keen to stop spam etc that they turn their filters etc up so high that they end up blocking far more than they should. Brenda > I don't see messages from Jeri, Devon, others I can't think of at the moment, and surprisingly Jacquie Tinch, who as most of you know, is my sister. However, I do see messages from them if they write to me directly. > > I know I am not unique, as Jane mentioned earlier. So... I have come to the conclusion that as I can communicate with them individually with no problem, that it must be something in the way that the Arachne service is provided.
