Your memory and argument are right, and I have used the same argument 
in an internal discussion with the core developers.

But you must see the arguments of the developers too: this is, after all,
a hobby project for them. All this legal stuff is forced on us, so it is 
natural that we are putting a brake on some things.

That said, we're obviously discussing things internally as well, and 
I'm confident that a solution will pop up that everybody will find 
acceptable.
