I'm not really sure about your question regarding 2.0

To be clear, the CMM's I'm referring to are sort of free except one has a software dongle called Windows and the other has a dongle called photoshop. If you've already got the dongle the CMM is completely free to use.

You obviously have zero chance of improving the performance of those two CMM's but you could at least profile lcms and figure out why its taking so long with your profile. Profiling would be my second step after confirming that lcms has some large performance hit over a commercial one. Where large is > 2 times slower.

Hi James,

no, we haven't tried any other CMM. Maybe we try ICM 2.0 in the coming days.
What do I have to expect from ICM 2.0? I think I heared, that ICM can only
work with version 2 ICC-Profiles, is this correct? Will the color quality be
significantly lower? I found some other CMMs like the one from Gretag MacBeth
called "logosync", if I remember correctly. Has anyone experience with that
one? h... and does anyone has an idea about the costs? Are there any other
CMMs I can use with Windows?
I do not really want to use any other CMM than littleCMS, I really like it,
that's the reason why I asked. So once again, will another CMM be faster than
littleCMS? Is there some potential for performance optimization of littleCMS?

with regards

Dirk

Dirk,
Did you try your experiment with any of the other slightly more
expensive CMM's (Adobe, Microsoft's)? I've not noticed any huge
discrepancies before and I would imagine that there is reasonable
pressure on both those vendors to keep the code tight.

Hi,

we work with littleCMS and are very happy about the results. But
besides the
color quality I'm interested in the performance. We measured a
calculation
time of around 400 ms using a 1 Mega Pixel picture. Knowing the
calculations
that have to be done I wonder if the performance is the best possible.
I'm
just interested if there will be some potential for performance
optimization
and does anyone has experience with other CMMs regarding the
calculation
time?

Dirk
