Did you try your experiment with any of the other slightly more expensive CMM's (Adobe, Microsoft's)? I've not noticed any huge discrepancies before and I would imagine that there is reasonable pressure on both those vendors to keep the code tight.

it's core is really LinoColor_CMM by Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG
and is also used in Apple's ColorSync 2.x, ColorFactory, Crayon, DaVinci (Mot88K), DaVinci Sprint (SGI), Helios OPI Includer
