Charles,

Thanks for asking, and I'm glad to be back. I actually belonged to the LDSOSS list a long time ago, but somehow I became unsubscribed and forgot about it. Then someone mentioned it on another list just this week and I was glad to be reminded of it -- I had enjoyed reading the discussions in the past -- so I signed up again.

You and others on the list may be interested to know that I just began working at the More Good Foundation, a brand new non-profit group that will do search engine optimization and internet marketing for LDS websites. We are out to find and promote faithful, positive LDS web sites, big or small. We're not a large group (only 4 employees so far) but we'd like to rally together everyone is interested in making the Internet more friendly to investigators of the Church. For example, if you are handy with Photoshop and have some free time, we'd like to connect you with a mom-and-pop LDS website that needs a new logo. Or if you like writing, we'd like to publish your essay about the Book of Mormon or temples or the Word of Wisdom on a web site. Or if you want to blog about LDS topics, we have the resources to set you up with a blog. Same goes for programmers, web developers, and internet (SEO) marketers, etc. -- all of those would be helpful. We'll have a PC lab in our office which people can use, or we can simply dish out service projects for you to do at home.

Our overall goal is to improve the Church's image on the web, especially for non-members. We're not quite set up (we just moved into our office Monday) but please feel free to email me ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) if this sounds like something you'd like to help with. Again, this could mean as little as 30 minutes a week -- we'd like as many volunteers as are willing to help. And if you have any opinions or comments, I'd be interested in those too.

Richard

Hey,

I don't mean to disrupt the mailing list peace, but I've noticed a
recent influx of new members. I, for one, would be quite interested in
learning who you are, how you found LDSOSS, what motivated you to join
the list, and what you hope to get from the group.

In any case, welcome, and we hope you enjoy it here!

Charles
