David; I don't think aiccu is a showstopper for a first beta version - we can 
always mention it as a "known issue" and at least it works, if you run it with 
"daemonize=false".

I'm running shorewall 4.4.13 without pb's 
(though I may be also affected by syslog-ng configuration issues).
I'll upgraded from a previous version and AFAIK I never tried to configure from 
scratch. Will test that ASAP.

BTW: The errors you see, looks somewhat similar to the error I see running 
"apkg -u"...??

The Geode processor requires his own variant due to openssl (I read it doesn't 
work with an 586/686 kernel).

I suggest we provide a generic x86 for the start (beta1) and if someone is in 
need for a geode optimized kernel I'll provide it. For beta2 we should aim for 
a buildtool environment that supports different kernels out of the box.

If Andrews work to update gcc is successful, as it looks like, we should solve 
the syslog config pb's, shorewall and apkg and go ahead with beta1.
