Both the Gnonto chance and the penalty no-call on Solomon were defense splitting passes from Aaronson. Those both result in goals and suddenly Aaronson doesn't appear so "ineffective".

Anyway, This meant a 7am start from Oxfordshire, and the consequent hour it took to get the last mile to the ground and park, meant we had time for a quick burger and piss to get to our seats just as the players were coming out. A very disappointing game had the 3 of us trying to work out what was missing. We agreed that we missed Rutter’s X factor. Not for his end product, but as much for his effect on the opposition , and getting the crowd enthused. We also kind of agreed that we need more progressive play from the midfield against teams that plays 6 man defence. They only needed 2 players to curb any attacking intention from Rodon, Struijk , Ampadu and Gruev. Also the space these 5 got in deep positions encouraged them to knock the ball about aimlessly between themselves. We agreed that Gnonto looked like Leeds best attacking player and that he ought to be tried in the Rutter role with his strength and perseverance. A more progressive midfielder than Gruev, might also open things up a bit, especially at home We all disagreed on Aaronson.
