I agree with Farke really about this match. Let's be honest, Burnley are a top side at this level, and they only had one chance and that came from a freak slip, whereas although we didn't muller them, we managed to create enough chances to have won the game. So I'm not too downhearted.
I'm not 100% happy about having an Israeli in our side, but I suppose you can't blame an individual for the actions of his nation..............and Solomon did look outstanding I thought. As good as S/ville I might hazard. On another note, I thought the much-vaunted "Best Fans in the Country" were pathetic. Apart from a few moribund chants of We Are Leeds and a bit of a kerfuffle with the ex-ManU kid there was hardly any actual support or encouragement from the fans (in stark contrast to the Bumley mob.) I've been saying for years that our atmosphere has gone completely downhill ever since the so-called hard lads decided to decamp from The Kop to the Scratching Shed so that they could flick V-signs at the away fans. It has completely diluted the noise. And the booing at the end - when the players had the temerity to follow the gameplan and patiently keep the ball in search of the good opening we desperately needed rather than aimlessly lumping the ball forward - was an utter disgrace. Back to the game, I thought all the players performed well with the exception of Bogle. Not only was he a bit shaky in possession a few times, but he really didn't handle the game-deciding breakaway very well. He did the right thing initially to try to split the ball carrier and the central runner, but once the guy got within 20 yds of goal he should have committed and closed him down.
