To reply about my use of the Dollarhide numbers: I use it basically for my direct line and their families. I have a large file for the PEET surname with the immigrant John born about 1597. He had 3 children - two sons. I am doing IDs for my line only. I am using different tags to identify my line and the other son's line. John PEET, the immigrant is 1664.0.

The ahentafel numbers were over 30-40 characters long. It was not the only system I used before I bought my first computer, but when the programs created RINs, I no longer needed to deal with them anymore. Also, the numbers can get pretty long, although the longer the number, the less related the people likely are to you.... How have you found this to work with Legacy? Do you give everyone this number for their ID number?
