I think I might take a very small issue with you over the Registration Districts :-) I have always been under the impression that when they were initially set up in 1837, the Registration Districts were assembled from groups of neighbouring Poor Law Unions. This was because there were administrative structure already in place. Of course, over time, the Registration Districts themselves have also been changed to better fit with the changing population demography. -- Regards, Mike Fry Johannesburg Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
