Michele, Please bare with us as it is difficult for us to give a direct answer as we do not know where you have stored the information, other than in Legacy <grin>. And congratulations on your dedication, I have done similar, but onlt at the rate of 1 or 2 days a week, so I know the effort you have made!
You say: "My cousin do not have legacy. How can I email them everything? I have the age our ancestors were when they got married, the street they lived on, what they did for a living, where they were buried, etc. " If they have other genealogy software, then you may consider sending a GEDCOM, or they could install the free version of Legacy, as long as they have a PC, and send them you .fdb, or backup file. If, however, these options are not available, you could send a PDF file as long as they have a PC or Mac. Otherwise you are left with printing a report and sending it by snail mail. Since you say "send them an email" the suggestion which Jenny made to create a PDF would seem to be the most sensible, and the most appropriate option that of creating a "Lines of Multiple Descent" Book Report (Report>Books/Others). You will also need to identify all the eldest ancestors of each branch, and I suggest that you look at today's post from Jane Searles on how to do this. All these names should be entered into the box at the bottom of the Options Page as described (click Change). Use the tabs at the top and the Buttons at the botton to set your options depending on what you wish to include and where you have put them in Legacy. Please come back to us when you have had a look. What I am trying to do, is send different cousins the family tree, with the notes or maybe it is called sources.I have been to my ancestral town and have everything. I spent three weeks in the records office and went to the church archives. I am going back 200 years. My cousin do not have legacy. How can I email them everything? I have the age our ancestors were when they got married, the street they lived on, what they did for a living, where they were buried, etc. On Thu, Mar 11, 2010 at 7:04 PM, Ron Ferguson <[email protected]> wrote: Jenny M Benson wrote: > Michele S wrote >> I am sending them through email. > > I'm sorry, but that is not much help! > > Again, I have to guess at what you mean. I agree, Jenny. In Michele's initial post it seemed to me that her problem was related to Sources. Unfortunately, I cannot tell whether there are none, or it's just they they are not being included in the PDF. It is not even clear whether it is thought that the PDF can, in someway be loaded into Legacy. There are other possibilities, as you know, and, like you, I would ask Michele to spell out in baby language exactly what she is doing and what the ultimate aim is.
