You are quite right, my reply to Dave was in html, like you say, I also
occasionally miss converting html to plain - apologies to all! Ind you I do
find that constantly having to manually convert a post from html to plain
text something of a pain.

I haven't looked into where my Source Details are going in My Heritage (or
even if they are getting there), what I do know is that Legacy is exporting
them. I have yet to have a good look.

Mike Fry has already given the current situation with respect to GEDCOMs,
and it is that standard, not Legacy which is the main cause of problems -
not always, but often. To try and overcome some of its deficiences most
programs have developed their own customised tags, which work fine from
within their own set up, but generally ignored by other software. You might
compare this poor situation with that of browsers where a similar situation
exists.
