One World Tree is Ancestry.com's stitched genealogical database, meaning that they take information from multiple user submitted databases and create a composite record. Most of the information they get from databases of user submitted gedcom files on the free service RootsWeb, which is another Ancestry.com service. You can go to Ancestry.com and do a search for "One World Tree" or go here: "http://ancestry.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ancestry.cfg/php/enduser/sab_answer.php?p_faqid=2305&p_search_text=one world tree".
Neither RootsWeb nor One World Tree have any direct connection to the Family Tree Maker program or to any other computer program for that matter. Ancestry.com's ownership of these services is a long and complicated one going through multiple name changes and selling off of certain enterprises.
