When a report prints, the AKAs show up all together, separated by commas It would be a nice (and hopefully easy) enhancement so that AKA could be shown on the Family View as discussed with all the AKAs listed and separated by commas in a similar way.
I use AKAs constantly. There are so many different spellings for names and I want them to be very clear to me when I am doing research; if the AKA is right there on the family view with all the variations, I am more likely to use the right ones in my searches. On one of my family lines, only one census was found under the actual surname and the others under a number of variations; ones you'd never dream up on your own. I find the AKA field to be invaluable for that. I used to enter with the other names in quotes (as another user suggested) or with the word "OR" in between variations but for submitting records, for sharing and for sorting, it's not the best for me. As I think Ron has stated many times over, each person has to do what works for them. Thanks for all the comments on this subject everyone. Kathy On Thu, Sep 9, 2010 at 8:26 AM, Dennis M.
