First of all, I'd question your idea that "Census" is not an event. A Census takes place at a specific time and records specific details such as a location. The resulting documents produced by the Census process are probably Sources, but the Census that produced them was an Event in someone's life. I've always maintained that the term "Events" is a misnomer. "Facts" would be a better word to use. To me, an Event has a time and a place, which is what basic data entry part of an "Event" is all about. Even with the "standard" events as supplied out-of-the-box, there is no requirement that a date and place is always entered, and the wording for these "Events" adjusts as necessary to take account of the missing fields. You can even substitute your own, "standard" wording for the standard Events. Also, it is possible to define your own "Events" and these need not necessarily require the entry of a date or a place.
