We are confusing two separate things. Certainly a census itself (the act
of someone knocking on your door for the purpose of recording certain
information) is an event ... just like a baptism is an event. But the
info gathered and recorded on a NARA microfilm is a source ... just like
a baptism certificate is a source.

The question each of us has to decide is whether or not to record a
census as an event worth mentioning in our database. I can understand
why some do, and I can understand why some don't.
