Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the info. However, I still cannot get legacy to find the files.
The files are all stored in C:\Users\User\Document\Ancestry\'family file name'
[there are several folders of family file names - Bridgeford, Wood, Main,
Noonan, etc etc.
I have set the picture files in Options/Customise page to the same link - but
when a missing file is shown with the blue question mark, Legacy will not
search there - but looks for the external hard drive E. I can search for the
file myself and find it. But - I have far too may files to do this all manually.
Why does the Legacy picture finder not search the C drive and look for the
files? It certainly used to do this prior to Windows7!!!! And, why does it not
search for the files in the default location?
Regards,

Mike Bridgeford

Actually, I've found that if I use the option to let Legacy search
after moving from one computer to another, it amazingly relinks
*everything* that didn't have a name change.

This is one of the reasons why we recommend multimedia files be kept
in their respective sub-folders in Legacy - when you switch computers
or share your files with someone else who has Legacy, there are
absolutely *no* problems with the files going missing, unless you
forget to copy them over or send them!

Sincerely,
Sherry
