I am no expert on Intellishare, but my instinct says that after you have
cleaned up your database you need to ship new copies to everyone who is
collaborating with you. I assume that you are the master. If you don't I
think these problems will come back with a vengeance.

Also, keep an eye on the extra sets of parents after every merge and
report any problems to support. Make a backup before a merge so you can
send support copies of databases for them to look at.
