Brian,

I don't know if this is possible in other programs, nor would it be
something which I would do, but what if 2 unknowns are linking two siblings
of unknown parentage?

Personally, I link them through a father with the same surname.

Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Pointers and Intellimerging

If a person has parents who are both "unknown, ie they do not exist in
the database" when you do a merge I have found that the "unknown"
parents are duplicated after a merge of two files, like you would do
when using intellimerge to merge a collaborator's file with your Master
file.

I have entered a problem report in our problem tracking system to have
this error fixed.
