Before deleting your database I tried this. Indeed the "Husbands of..."
screen does immediately come back listing two totally unrelated
individuals. But if you close it and look at RIN 9 again you'll see that
she only shows one (the correct) husband. That must be some sort of bug
which shows up on the "Husbands of..." screen when it gets refreshed
after an unlink. Someone else will have to check V7 to see if this bug
is still present.

I think not. As I said above, you are seeing erroneous data on the
"Husbands of..." screen which is not really in your database. Just close
the screen and look again.
