Yvonne, I suspect that you will need to take a look at it in either Access or Open Office. The former can be accessed using LTools if you do not have Access. Unless you are already familiar with the Legacy construction, it may not tell you much, other than whether it really is an Access file, and perhaps whether it is corrupt - which after all this time it may well be.
Additionally, I haven't a clue whether a file created in 2002 will open in the current Legacy version - I think it should, although it will need to rearrange itself quite a lot. You might try opening it in V4, or ask Legacy if they can help. I have a file from the late Lill Ann Parry dated 8/17/2002. Her Legacy file has an extension of .fdb but it gives me an error and says "try again?" Well, trying again doesn't work. As you can image, I really need this information. I'm on a Dell desktop running Windows 7, the latest update to Legacy Deluxe 7.5 and have 279 GB available on my C drive.  Any ideas? Oh yes. I also have Lill Ann's file on an old CD which I'm pretty sure is good but the file won't open there, either.
