Sherry: I am using 7.5.0.112 and I did run check/repair before writing.
Why will deleting the .usr files restore the timelines? This doesn't make sense to me. Will it also restore the timeline that I created? Also, you say that the preferences and settings will be restored as I use the various features but you say I will have to reselect my choices.
