In the Legacy folder you should see two usr files relating to timelines
Timeline.usr and TimelineFiles.usr the first for charts and the second for
reports, I would just delete these, at least for starters.

You also that there are no Timelines, where have you looked? The timelines
are stored in the C:\Legacy\Timeline folder (by default). They can be opened
in Notepad (or any text reader) by right clicking and selecting your text
reader by using 'Open With'. Now if there are none in this folder, or the
folder is not in the Legacy folder, then that may be your real problem!

Okay, this helps me understand why it might have lost "my" timeline but
why did the others go away (the standard ones that Legacy supplies)?

And to the specific instructions:

When I go to "My Computer" and then to my C drive and then to Legacy, I
find a long list and perhaps dozens of files with the.usr extension.  Do
I manually delete each of these?  Some show up in black and some are
blue.  Why the difference?
