I'm assuming that this behavior only occurs with Legacy and the problem does not happen anywhere else. My first thought would be a bad mouse but then why would a mouse be playing favorites with only the male gender. How about trying this one: instead of trying just one normal click, try right clicking on the SAVE box (strange as it may sound, Legacy is a weird program which allows either a left click or right click to accomplish this same action). If a right click works, then I'm still suspecting the left click function of your mouse.
Next, I would try to save out of a female's window by using the keyboard shortcut, Alt-S. If that works with only one press of the keys, it would seem to point back at the mouse. And I would also try File / File Maintenance / Check/Repair to see how that works. Besides, it's something you should be doing regularly anyhow. And finally, try sending a copy of your file to another Legacy user to see if the problem goes with the file. If it doesn't, then obviously something is wrong with the program. I would then suggest an un-install and re-installation. Let's us know how this all works out. You've got my interest. I never get an error message; the individual screen just stays up until the 3 clicks on "Save" are completed. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
