Let's review what we know:
1. It takes 3 Alt-S presses which means it is not a mouse or mouse driver
problem.
2. All other Windows programs behave normally
3. Your file that you sent me works just fine on my machine so it is not a
problem with the family file.

Therefore, your installation of Legacy is "hosed"...that is a highly technical
term which fits your situation perfectly.

Probably a bad download when you updated from .201 to .208 the latest version
and the corruption was not caught during the download or install process. Or
maybe Jupiter is aligned with Mars. Who knows what went wrong.

So, I'd say you most definitely need to un-install and then re-install Legacy.
Please make sure that you do not somehow delete all of the Legacy folders along
with your family files. Make sure you have a working backup copy of each family
file. And follow the recommendations for what type of user files extensions you
should keep. These are the files that hold all your customization settings,
etc. Search the archives for messages about this. I thought this used to be in
the FAQs on the company web site but I no longer see it there (hint to Sherry -
what to keep during a reinstall sounds like a FAQ to me).

Good luck.

Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Saving a female from the individual screen

Thanks for your interest, Brian.
Results of your suggestions-

-try to save out of a female's window by using the keyboard shortcut, Alt-S.
     still takes 3 clicks

-try File / File Maintenance / Check/Repair to see how that works.
first thing I tried without result

-try sending a copy of your file to another Legacy user to see

one of my small files is on the way to you via your email,

I have 8 or 10 family databases that all react the same way.

I won't bother to uninstall and reinstall. I'd rather spend my time
researching. I had hoped that someone else had solved this annoyance easily.
