Brian,

Just the public hints from Geoff, like “before the end of the year and
hopefully earlier”. The fact that his V8 illustrated book update (not the
manual) is coming out end Aug/early Sept does suggest that the project cannot
be all that far off. There’s only around 4 months of the year left – assuming
that one would wish to release in time for Christmas presents!

Just curious but what leads you to believe that v8.0 is “so close”? As I
understand it, there is no official release date. That could mean days, weeks,
months, or even longer than a year. Or did I miss something about an expected
target date?

Larry,

This thread has developed, and the subject is not absolutely related to the
content.

Like all users, I am not in a position to know about the final construct of the
database of V8.0 compared with V7.5, but in general, when a new version of any
program is so close I would not recommend making significant changes to a
current database. This is just my practise, sometimes I may as well have
carried on, at others I have been very happy that I held back.
