The path he posted IS the standard v8 path, at least in Windows 7 or 8 (it would be different in XP, and maybe vista). The (USER) part represents your particular user name. C:\Users\(USER)\Documents is perhaps more familiar to you as “My Documents”.

The path he posted is not from a standard Legacy installation. Check your v7.5 paths and you would have posted ??? also. The incomprehensible thing is why, when so many things are backed up with the Family File, when others applied to all Family Files are backed up, why are these very important files not backed up as a matter of course? Are setting options that apply to all Family Files not backed up when a Family File is backed up? They should be. These are important settings. It would behoove Legacy to provide a way to back them up conveniently, or at the very least have a warning box advising people to back them up - and which ones too. CE If you want to back up your *.usr files go to: C:\Users\(USER)\Documents\Legacy Family Tree\_AppData\Usr and zip all of them into a single zip file. I just did it and it took less than 30 seconds. Name the file appropriately and store it with all you backups. Very simple, Very fast.
