Cheryl, At first I thought that you had a good idea in using "Samuel appeared in his mother's household ...", But, I have several cases where a couple is living with his father in law. If Legacy had allowed for us to edit the wording, Shared Events would be a great tool, but it looks like it will be easier to use the old method and enter the data for each person, as we did in 7.5.
