I wanted to add something. I always put something in the text/comments to
explain WHY this person would be in a position to know the piece of
information. For example (and I am making this up).

John Doe (Brandon, Florida), interview by Michele Simmons Lewis, 1983; personal
interview; John states that in 1920 when he was 18 years old his grandfather
James Doe showed him where James' father Michael was buried in the Grantham
Cemetery. The grave is unmarked but he indicated that it was just to the left
of Michael's wife Mary's grave which is marked.

I use the Interview template. I fill out the blanks in a way that it formats
the way I want it to. Here are the three types of interviews. I changed the
names of the persons just for privacy.

John Doe (Brandon, Florida), interview by Michele Simmons Lewis, 1983; personal
interview.

Mary (Jones) Smith (Grovetown, Georgia), interview by Michele Simmons Lewis,
1993; telephone.

James White (Ocean Springs, Mississippi), interview by Michele Simmons Lewis,
1991; email.
