Michele,
I think I've submitted this before.

1) A Save when there are changes should function as it does currently including
change to Modified date.
2) A Save when no changes have been made should be considered a cancel without
changing the Modified date.

3) A Cancel when there are changes should have an optional question "Click Yes
to discard changes, click No to return to edit". If changes are discarded, the
Modified date should not be changed.
4) A Cancel when no changes have been made should function as it does currently
without a change to Modified date.

Two tricky problems with the Modified date.
1) When exporting Legacy data to a new Legacy database, the Modified date is
changed in the exported data file. Likewise when importing a Legacy database,
the Modified dates in the imported data are changed.
2) When merging records, if information in the Notes is edited, replaced, or
appended...those changes are immediate. There is no cancel to discard those
changes even if the records are not merged.

It depends on whether you click CANCEL or you click SAVE. Click cancel and the
date does not change. Click save and it does.

Thanks Michelle. Don't think I have ever looked at this. However, I am not sure
I like it. I just clicked in the marriage event of one at random to look at the
data. Never changed anything but it says the data was modified as of the time I
looked. This doesn't seem very good idea. If I had modified any of the data
fine,.. but I didn't.
