I wonder if a citation with just the url would really be satisfactory as urls 
change frequently.  I suggest that a full citation with the addition of a url 
would be best so that someone reading the citation could find their way back to 
the record even if the url had changed.

Because the whole point (or one of the points) of the Master Source/Source 
Details system is that you avoid the need (as far as
possible) for repetition.  Repetition is a waste of storage space, a waste of 
time and leaves much scope for making errors.  Legacy is built on Access, which 
is a relational database and that's the way relational databases work.

Having said that, you could create separate Master Sources, one for each 
different Ancestry URL if you wished, or you could incorporate the specific URL 
into the Source Detail somewhere.  It's worth bearing in mind that you don't 
necessarily have to use the SourceWriter template fields for exactly what their 
field names suggest they should be used for and can happily leave some field 
unused if that suits your purpose.
