As regards the 'single item open at one time' query, this is basically a
consequence of the difference between a 'modal' and a 'modeless' window.
'Modeless' windows allow for multiple views to be open at the same time. With a
simplistic Jet database such as that used for Legacy, it is dangerous to have
multiple 'modeless' windows open at the same time. You run the very real risk of
corrupting the database. To avoid this, legacy uses 'modal' windows.

As for the 'STICKing' problem. This sounds more like a coding problem where
either the closing of the first window, or the opening of the second window,
results in the clearing of the system clipboard. As others have pointed out,
using a clipboard extender can circumvent this problem, and provide a
work-around for the first problem.
